Elsie Szecsy talks about how technology is rapidly taking over the world and is being shown into schools, which is benefiting many ESL students. “Though technology is a useful tool in bilingual education, these examples show the importance of acknowledging local cultural norms in decision making for integrating technology into bilingual education, so that the intended outcomes are consistent with the desired outcomes for the community. (Szecsy 822)
Technology has been a useful tool in bilingual education. Many sources of technologies such as psychology, acoustic linguistics, and psycholinguistics are used in second-language acquisition research. With technology being a piece of our regular daily existences, the time has come to reevaluate coordinating technology into the educational program and intend to insert technology into instructing to help the learning procedure. In other words, technology turns into a necessary piece of the learning background and a huge issue for educators, from the earliest starting point of getting ready to learning encounters through to instructing and learning processes (Eady and Lockyer, 2013). The role of many teachers in supporting learning in a world full technology is to helping those students who use technology a way to help them with their work. There are many Web-based resources that are useful in the K-12 classroom for promoting constructivist learning and technology literacy. Students and teachers have to be informed on how to use certain technology because it takes some skill in downloading certain programs and interesting them into computers. Students have to learn basic technical skills in order to operate the computer and use the software programs appropriately. Computer-based technology has an enormous potential to bring about new ways of learning in K-12 classrooms.

In technological terms, the online formats for L2 instruction will continue to evolve rapidly, making the issues of teacher training in iterative cycles a pressing concern for any language program. Blake talks about how technology in classrooms has developed thought the years. Whether in support of traditional, blended, or fully online formats.” Everything in this world develops and finds a way to improve. Education has developed hugely over the previous hundreds of years. From one-room school buildings, isolated schools, to open and tuition-based schools; types of instruction and how we get it are continually evolving. In the previous decade, innovation has turned into an enormous piece of instruction and tutoring. Perspectives on kinds of tutoring and training are evolving quickly. Recordings and articles can be discovered everywhere throughout the Internet on essentially any subject you can consider. A lot of the present tutoring is done through online classes. You enter an average elementary classroom you might find a computer cart with twenty or thirty laptops, all with hook-up to the Internet. The teacher usually has either a desktop or lap top computer, sometimes both, for keeping track of important information.
Technology plays an important role in helping those English learning students. Even though technology can’t guarantee teachers while being able to help those English learning students. Instructors needs to see the value and preferences of technology in improving students’ learning. Reflection paper
The biggest challenge I had writing my exploratory essay was trying to find different sources I could implement in my essay. One challenge I started off with was deciding if my topic would be good enough to write about. I found this enjoyable to write about though because first off the major I want to get into is computer science. So I found it interesting to learn how technology plays a role in English learning. The Class activities/ homework that helped me draft my writing piece was the in-class research and looking for sources. It helped me because I was able to ask my classmates around me if my source actually connects to what I’m writing about.
The feedback I got on my draft was that sometimes I would talk about something that is other than my topic. For instance, I would talk about technology in general instead of on how technology helps teachers with bilingual students. Also, I was told that some of my writing wouldn’t make sense because of that. To revise my work I started over again and I found different sources that would actually help me stay on topic.
I think I met the requirements of this assignment pretty well. The part of the rubric I think I did pretty well in is the ideas part. The part of the rubric I believe was my weakness was development.
I learn that its easier to write an essay when you do it part by part. The areas that I would need to work in on my next assignment are finding different quotes I could put into my writing. What I could still work on if finding sources that relate to my writing. I don’t believe I would do anything differently next time.
