I’m a freshman at CCNY which is short for City College of New York. You already know this because you are my FIQWS teacher. I live with my little brother he is Fourteen years old and also my mom and stepdad. I’m a student-athlete, I like to play baseball and in High school, I would have got 85 and above in all my class. I have always been a good student ever since I was young I always use to get good grades in school. I am a have a funny personality, but when it comes to school and classwork I am very focused. My favorite subject in school is Math and also Science; to me, science is very interesting.
To start off with I’m a more visual and hands-on student. I have noticed when it comes to school when I do activate hands-on I take in more information from the lesson. It has always been hard for me to open up to me so that’s why I struggle to be an outgoing person in the class. I’m a shy person so speaking in class has been one of my weaknesses. For example, when I’m standing in front of the class I don’t make eye contact a lot, and my posture I’m not standing up straight. Every person got their weaknesses and they also got their strengths. Some of my strengths as a student is that I’m hardworking, I will also be engaged in the lesson. For instance, some student may sidetrack and get distracted but I’m always focused.
When I first applied to CCNY I wanted to go into the school of technology but I did not do so well on my placement test, which set me back, and now I’m working to get on track and hopefully be able to transfer into the school of technology. What I want to major in is computer Science. With the world just be taken over by technology I figured I do something that while be everything the future is going to be about and also something that I found interesting since I was young. Currently, I’m taking five classes and I plan on dropping from none of the classes; I’m taking math, History, Philosophy and I can’t forget about my FIQWS classes.
My first langue English even though I also know how to talk a little bit of Spanish. For instance, if I was told something in Spanish I would understand it and be able to respond to you but the only problem would be that I would reply in English. My only concern as a writer is that sometimes my grammar and my spelling might be off from time to time and that one problem I have been dealing with for as long had I could remember.
I currently do not work and the only reason behind that is because I practice baseball almost every day of the week. I have always been able to balance school and sports that never been a problem for me. I have been able to include practice time into school because of course school comes before sports. Without school, you are not able to go anywhere because you could get injured at any time. Anyways, I expect this class to be very interesting and I expect to learn a lot.
